The station operated by the Nigeria Petroleum Development Company, (NPDC), a subsidiary of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC was shutdown by angry indigenes of Diebiri and Batan communities in Delta State citing wrongful appointment into the board  of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC) by the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa.

The protesters also alleged the state deputy governor, Kingsley Otuaro of ‘cornering’ the DESOPADEC’s appointment slot for his cronies in Gbaramatu Kingdom with disregard for the interest of the people of Diebiri Kingdom.
