COVID-19: Olusegun Obasanjo Test Negative

Erstwhile President of Nigeria, Olusegun Obasanjo has tested negative to a COVID-19 test conducted on him.

According to a statement by Kehinde Akinyemi, Special Assistant to Obasanjo on Media, the test conducted on the former president came out negative on Friday, August 7.

The test was conducted at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) Pent House residence, Okemosan, Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun state.

Akinyemi’s statement on Sunday, August 9, said the samples of the test, conducted by one Dr. Olukunle Oluwasemowo of the Molecular Genetics Laboratory 54gene, Lagos, Nigeria, was returned negative on Saturday, August 8.

“The laboratory is one of the accredited laboratories approved by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to conduct the crucial COVID-19 test on both asymptomatic and symptomatic Nigerians,” the statement said.
