The Eastern Security Network (ESN), has been asked to ceasefire in its gunfight with Nigerian security operatives.
The order was given by its founder and leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Recall that the ESN, and operatives of the Nigerian Army have been engaging in a gun battle in Orlu, Imo State since last Friday thus resulting in loss of lives and destruction of properties.
According to Kanu, the order became imperative due to the fact that the army and the police had withdrawn their operatives.
Kanu said, “Credible intelligence indicates that the army and police reinforcement deployed from Owerri have been ordered to withdraw from Orlu.
“For this reason, I hereby direct the officers and men of the Eastern Security Network to stand down, while remaining vigilant to any Fulani terrorist activity in Biafra land.”
