Years back, the celebration of the birthday of the former governor of Lagos State was simple, a fancy party with a lot to eat and drink.
Subsequently, it took a different shape, as it became a political affair that attracted people from all works of life including businessmen, politicians, and even market women.
Mostly celebrated in Lagos State, attendees always had a way of finding their way to the gathering known for hosting high-caliber individuals.
Some of the regular faces known for attending the annual colloquium were however missing in action this year, as they just could not find their way to the event hosted in Kano State supposedly to promote national unity.
While some people could not attend the event due to distance, for others, it was the fear of rampaging bandits.
