Lagos Police Confirms Seun Kuti’s Detention Over Assault Of Policeman

Seun Kuti has eventually surrendered himself to the Lagos State Command of the Nigeria Police Force.
This comes after his lawyer, Femi Fanala on Sunday confirmed that he would submit himself to the police on Monday.
Recall Kuti was recently spotted in a viral video assaulting a policeman on Third Mainland Bridge, Lagos.
In a social media post upon an order for his arrest by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Usman Alkali Baba, the musician said the policeman wanted to kill him and his family. He also said he would corporate with investigation by the police.
Having surrendered himself to the police on Monday, the case was transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department Panti for further investigations.
Spokesman of the police in Lagos State, Benjamin Hundeyin was quoted as saying that Kuti came early in the morning and was accompanied to the headquarters by a lawyer from the chamber of Femi Falana SAN.
“He came this morning and he has been transferred to the State CID Panti,” Hundeyin said.
