Chad Names Interim President Minutes After Death Of Idriss Deby

The Republic of Chad has named an interim president following the death of their President, Idriss Deby.
Recall that an Army spokesperson confirmed Deby’s death which was said to have arisen from injuries sustained in the frontline while fighting rebels.
Minutes after Deby’s death, an interim leader was named by the country’s transitional council of military officers.
General Mahamat Kaka, the son of the deceased Chadian leader, was named as the country’s interim head of the state.
Army spokesman, General Azem Bermendao Agouna made the disclosure in a broadcast on state television on Tuesday, April 20.
Deby died days after he won a sixth term as the country’s presidential election results were announced on Monday, April 19.
