Rotary International To Honour FirstBank, Others

FirstBank will be honoured by Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria on Sunday, May 19.

Also to be honoured at the event slatted to hold at Sheraton Hotel and Towers are Airtel Nigeria, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).

Others are C. Woermann (Nigeria) Ltd, Nigerian Stock Exchange, Mitglauben Engineering and Rite Foods Limited, among others.

The firms will be rewarded with Rotary Outstanding Invaluable Company Award for their Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.

Selected media organisations such as TVC Nigeria, NTA, The Guardian Newspaper and The Nigerian Xpress will also be honoured for their invaluable media coverage/reportage of issues that affects humanity.

Wellbeing Foundation Africa will also receive the Rotary Outstanding Humanitarian Organisation Award for its consistency in improving health outcome of women and children

Guest Speaker at the event which has been tagged Rotary Friendship Night/The Governor’s Magazine Launch/Awards is Consular General of the Federal Republic of Germany, in Nigeria, Dr. Stefan Traumann.

Traumann will be speaking on the German culture, arts, business, way of life, amongst others.

On the choice of the German consular as guest speaker, Chairman of the District Editorial Committee, Rotarian Arinze Okamelu, said he is the “most appropriate as he will be speaking and sharing with Rotarians and friends of Rotary, the German culture, arts, business, way of life, amongst others, as Rotarians prepare to attend their annual Rotary International Convention, holding this year in Hamburg, Germany, between June 1 and June 5, 2019.”

Okamelu, who is also Editor-in-Chief of The Governor’s Newsletter and The Governor’s Magazine, said the awards would “appreciate them as Rotary partners, and give them the impetus to do more, towards having a better society.”
