Richard Nyong’s Nightmare Returns

Published

Richard Nyong

In the past months, Richard Nyong, Managing Director of Lekki Gardens Estate Limited has been enjoying a fantasy life.
The fantasy life came courtesy a bail granted him by an Ebute Meta Magistrate court where he has been charged following the collapse of a five-story structure under construction by his company, Lekki Gardens. The building located at Kushenla Road in Ikate Elegushi, Lagos led to the death of not less than 35 people.
During his bail, Nyong returned to business telling those who cared to listen that the whole development was a mix up and his company was back and better.
However, it seems it is now time to face the law, as the nightmares which once plagued his dreams are back.
Only recently, the Lagos State Ministry of Justice and the Lagos State Government filed criminal charges against Nyong who prior to now had thought that his ordeals were behind him.
The criminal charge, which was filed on February 17, is yet to be assigned a date for arraignment of the defendants. However, there is no denying the fact that Nyong has a hard battle to fight in court
