9ice, ID Cabasa, others to thrill fans at Lagos City Mall, Onikan

It promises to be an explosive evening at the Lagos City Mall this weekend as one of Nigeria’s finest afro hip-hop artistes, 9ice leads other stars for a ground breaking musical concert as Gaise, an afrofusion musician set to unveil his new record label on Sunday May 8. The concert which starts with a red carpet at five o’clock in the evening will be held at Ace-Olivia Event Hall.

Akinade Ibuoye, Gaise, also known as Gaise Baba is a graduate of Economics from Obafemi Awolowo University who came into the music scene with his self-titled Album “GAISEBABA” in August 2011. The Afrofusion gospel artiste is a unique and gifted musician whose style is different from others.

Also on the performance list are ID Cabasa, Isaac Geralds, multi-talented musician, comedian, compere and song writer EmmaohmaGod, Ranti, and Ayodele Okundalaiye, the self-acclaimed Senior Advocate of Comedy (SACO) among other artistes.

Tagged “Korinsodi, An Evening With Gaise” the event promises the best in music, comedy and other forms of entertainment for fun seekers looking for where to catch fun this weekend. The event is supported by Ace-Olivia Hall, Channels TV, Television Continental, and the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency (LASAA) among others.

According to the management of Ace-Olivia, one of the sponsors of the concert, it will afford fun seekers the opportunity to get quality entertainment in a relaxed atmosphere. Chief Executive Officer of Ace-Olivia, Mrs. Shola Akintoye said the event would bring together the best in the music and entertainment industry.

Mall manager, Lagos City Mall, Kayode Ogundele, said fun seekers at the event who have smart phones could enjoy free Wi-Fi for the first 15 minutes at the venue. The Wi-Fi service powered by Airtel Nigeria is one of the value added services offered by the management of the mall for its tenants and visitors. The Airtel Wi-Fi services was rolled out last year and is meant to serve public places like malls, airports, universities, hotels and event places. This service is for users with Wi-Fi enabled devices like mobile phones, laptops and tablets.

Besides, the Wi-Fi, the event which is holding inside the mall will afford fun seekers to shop. The mall boasts of retail brands in body & beauty, fashion, lifestyle, banking, telecoms, food and restaurants, health, grocery and supermarket, accessories and gift store, game arcade, multipurpose event hall and entertainment aimed at creating a renewed and memorable shopping experience.

Leading Nigerian DJ, DJ Neptune has endorsed Praiz sophomore album titled King.

Speaking on why he endorsed the 16-track album which features Olamide, Timaya, Phyno and other musicians, DJ Neptune said Praiz cant definitely can’t go wrong with the album.

“He is a great guy, amazing vocals. I know definitely he can’t go wrong with this album. This is his second album, and he is proving himself over and over again,” DJ Neptune said in an interview.

The King album was born out of self-awareness, according to Praiz.

 “I named it the King album because I went to a point of self-awareness. I am a very modest person. I didn’t really place value on what I was able to do, my abilities. I went passed that stage, and I got to a point of self-awareness. I have realised who I truly am, and I named the album the King album.”

Go and get this album. It’s an amazing body of work, it is one of the best project you will ever listen to this year, and till I release another album, trust me.

Why I Don’t Sing In English- Sola Allyson

Sola Allyson has revealed that she is not likely to sing in English language. The artiste, who sings predominantly in Yoruba language is unapologetic about it.

 

Answering questions regarding her career recently, the ‘Eji Owuro’ singer said that she is not pressured to do anything outside what she wants, adding that she is not likely to sing in English, but acknowledging the possibility of finding English words in her lyrics.

“I sing predominantly in Yoruba, and my music doesn’t have any religious undertone. I am in the mainstream industry, but I don’t feel any pressure to do anything. I sing in Yoruba unapologetically. I don’t want to sing in English. If you find English words in my lyrics, it is just to let fans know that I am also educated.”

DJ Humility has laid claim to starting collaborations between DJs and music artiste.

The chubby and dark-complexion disc jockey stated this while speaking on the importance of such collaborations.

“I am one of the few DJs that started the trend, but today, it’s a big thing and a good thing.

“Collaborations with other artistes make the DJs more relevant, and of course the artiste who doesn’t have a good song to push, collaborating with a DJ makes it great.”
