24 Months Unpaid Salaries: Magistrate Collapses While Protesting

A magistrate identified Richard Edet reportedly collapsed on Tuesday, January 5, while taking part in a protest.
Edet collapsed in front of the governor’s office in Calabar, Cross River State while protesting 24-months unpaid salaries along with his colleagues.
However, he was revived by other magistrates with milk and water.

Report reaching this platform said that the officials were said to have protested in their full regalia to prove that they were actually employed by the state government.
The group claimed that they had not received salaries since their employment into the state civil service by the Ayade-led administration two years ago.
Speaking to newsmen after the incident, the chief magistrate of Cross River, Solomon Abuo decried what he described as ill-treatment meted to them by the state government.
