A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Saheed Akinade-Fijabi, has said that there would be the emergence of a third party if the ruling party denies former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu its presidential ticket in 2023.

Akinade-Fijabia, a former member of the House of Representatives, made this known on Saturday, May 15, in Ibadan, the  Oyo State capital.

The former lawmaker was quoted to have stated that another political party may come on board in favor of Tinubu to tackle Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and APC so as to make the dream of the APC national leader in becoming Nigeria’s next president a reality.

Akinade-Fijabi said while feeding questions on Tinubu’s presidential ambitions that anything can happen in 2023 because Nigerians are unpredictable.

He said: “our people are unpredictable, there might be the emergence of the third party to counter the two existing ones (PDP and APC) if Asiwaju Tinubu is denied presidential ticket by APC in 2023.”

However, Akinade-Fijabi said that APC would come back stronger in 2023 in the state because reconciliation is currently ongoing within the party to bring back all the aggrieved party members into one fold.

Meanwhile, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Chief Bode George, has said he would cease to be a Nigerian if Tinubu becomes president in 2023.
