A federal lawmaker representing Oyo East, Akeem Adeyemi, has asked Nigerians to support the 2023 presidency bid of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Adeyemi, made the call on Tuesday, February 23, describing Tinubu as “generalissimo of Nigerian politics.”

According to him, Tinubu has political experience in both legislature and executive arms spanning close to three decades.

Paying a tribute to Tinubu’s resilience and capacity for survival, Adeyemi said the APC national leader demonstrated high doggedness while serving as an opposition governor during the administration of former president Olusegun Obasanjo.

Though no official declaration has been made in respect to Tinubu’s ambition, the former Lagos State governor has not distanced himself from the campaigns pushing him to occupy the biggest office in the country.

Tipping Tinubu to become president, Adeyemi described the former governor as a staunch politician with strategic political roadmaps.

He said: “His strategic political roadmap of aligning the West with the North was key to APC’s victory in the 2015 general elections.

“Against all odds, he ensured the emergence of his preferred candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, as the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress.”
