2016 BET Award: Wizkid, Yemi Alade Floored

Yemi Alade might have been the most dressed African singer at this year’s BET Award which held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 26, but that wasn’t enough to win her an award.

The Mama Africa artiste along with StarBoy Wizkid had their high hopes dashed, as neither of them could win the Best International Act; Africa category.

Yemi Alade and Wizkid were edged out of the category which also had Aka; Cassper Nyovest; Diamond Platnumz; Mzvee and Serge Beynaud by South African DJ and producer, Black Coffee. Falz however was compensated by winning the Viewers’ Choice Best New International Act category.

Yemi Alade at the BET Awards definitely had a good time. The singer was all shades of style, as she was dressed in a Zuhair Murad 2016 resort dress.

She enjoyed her time on the red carpet taking pictures with celebrities including Jidenna. However, it is her dress which has sprung up speculations, as followers of the singer seek to know if she wore the original dress or an imitation. The original copy of the Zuhair Murad 2016 resort dress is worth a whooping N2.5m.
