In a period when accountability and transparency should be the watchword of Heritage Bank Limited what is currently taking place in the financial institution is the opposite.

Recent development in the bank is indeed mindboggling, as nepotism now appears the order of the day.

Information available to www.theoctopusnews.com reveals how top management staffs now use their offices for personal gains, more often than not influencing the bank’s sponsorship of events and taking kickbacks.

Presently, criticism is currently trailing one of its top managers in person of Mary Akporobome. The woman, is been criticized for her connection in the bank’s sponsorship of her husband’s (Ali Baba) New Year concert which held at the Convention Centre of Eko Hotels & Suites.

Sources within the bank informed www.theoctopusnews.com that Akporobome used her position as Executive Director, Ivory Banking, Heritage Bank Limited, to influence the sponsorship of her husband’s concert.

Since the concert, posers such as what the bank has gain from its sponsorship of the concert and the likelihood anything positive will emanate from its acquisition of Enterprise Bank Plc if sentiment is used in running the financial institution are currently being asked.

Ali Baba’s New Year concert witnessed the presence of notable names such as Mike Adenuga, Aliko Dangote, Abimbola Fashola and Femi Otedola among others.

The entertainment industry was represented by names such as Timi Dakolo, Yibo Koko, Okey Bakkasi, Basorge Tariah, Koffi, Yaw, Bovi, Seyi Law, Senator, Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st and Tee-A.

Other entertainers present includes Abuja based comedian, Ambassador Wahala, Jaywon, Omawunmi, Waje, Shola Allyson, Chigurl, Mandy, Princess, Helen Paul, 2face Idibia, Dbanj, Dammy Krane and Oritsefemi.

For a woman who has been described as one with an eagle eye for growth opportunities, Mrs. Akporobome’s business strategy leaves room for questions to be asked.
