Yakubu Dogara Rejoins All Progressives Congress

Erstwhile Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, has rejoined the All Progressives Congress (APC), from People’s Democratic Party(PDP).
Recall that Dogara defected to the PDP in January 2019.
Announcing his defection during plenary on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, Dogara said it was due to pressures from constituents who had lost confidence in APC.
Then, his words were: “I, Yakubu Dogara, hereby announce my defection from the APC to the PDP. In my own case, I would say I took the decision because of the wishes of my constituents who bought PDP nomination forms for me on 12 September 2018.”
Confirming Dogara’s return to the party he dumped barely a year ago, Interim APC Chairman and governor of Yobe State, Mala Mai Buni told state house correspondents after himself and Dogara met with President Buhari in the presidential villa in Abuja today Friday, July 24 that the former speaker had indeed returned to the APC.
“He is now a member of the APC,” Buni told journalists after the meeting.
