The police has revealed why it cannot release the name of its officer who shot dead his wife, and then killed himself.
According to report, the incident took place at the Prison Barrack, Ikoyi in Lagos state on Saturday, October 26.
Spokesperson of the state police command, Bala Elkana said the names of the couple cannot be released at the moment as their families have not been contacted.
While the woman is said to be an Inspector of Prisons, the reason for the murder-suicide is not yet known.
The couple were rushed to the hospital after the incident but the woman died in the early hours of Sunday, October 27, while the man died later in the day.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Elkana, said the incident happened and that the police is investigating the matter to unravel the reason behind the dastard act.
