Why I Respect Adeboye – Oba Akiolu

Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akinolu is known in many quarters to be a man who fears no one and says things just as he sees it. The revered monarch was in his usual element on Wednesday at a well attended event which had in attendance wives of South West governors and many other dignitaries.
Among dignitaries present at the event organised by Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) in Lagos for women, was wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Folu Adeboye. While giving his goodwill message, Oba Akiolu acknowledged the presence of Mrs. Adeboye and said, “I so much respect Pastor Adeboye, he is one of the few pastors I have great respect for. Many years ago before the demise of Oba Lipede, the Alake of Egbaland, and Pastor Adeboye said Oba Lipede has derailed from the things of God but unfortunately he doesn’t have opportunity for repentance. Oba Lipede died five days after that. This singular event made me respect Pastor Adeboye greatly,” the monarch who dressed in a blue agbada said.
