We Can Not Validate Dede’s Claim About Fela’s Death-Yeni Kuti
Yeni Kuti has denied knowledge of the fact that legendary Afrobeat maestro, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, was injected with a poisonous substance while in the detention of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
In a recent interview, Dede Mabiaku revealed that the ‘Water No Get Enemy’ singer confided in him and Seun Kuti that he was injected with a poisonous substance.
Speaking exclusively with us, Yeni Kuti, however, said: “Dede knows where he got that information; we don’t know anything about it. If he has information, he should let us know because we are interested, and we would love to know where he got that information from.”
Wondering why Dede is just speaking up on the issue 22 years after Fela’s death, Yeni Kuti said that Seun has also not told her anything and that she has never ever heard anything like that.
“He should furnish us with the information so that we can follow it up,” Yeni Kuti said.
