Amidst worsening economic situations in Nigeria, Primate Elijah Ayodele has warned Nigerians not to think of voting for Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.

Obi, was the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), in the 2023 general election which was won by President Bola Tinubu.

Some political stakeholders in Nigeria hold the impression that Obi would have been a better president than Tinubu.

In an interaction with the press on Sunday, February 18, Primate Ayodele noted that the suffering Nigerians are experiencing now would be nothing compared to what they would experience if they vote Obi in 2027.

Recall that in 2023, Primate Ayodele advised Nigerians not to vote Tinubu, adding that should he become the next president of Nigeria, there would be an unimaginable level of suffering.

Also, Pastor David Ibiyeomie also warned Nigerians not to vote the All Progressive Congress (APC) presidential candidate in as the Naira will go for N5,000 per dollar if  they do.

There have been protest across Nigeria regarding shortage of food supply and astronomical rise in price of food stuff, leading to President Tinubu ordering the release of 42,000MT of maize, millet and other commodities from the national strategic reserves to address the rising cost of food.

Addressing news men, the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, the move is a temporary response to the nation’s growing food crisis and the rising cost of commodities.

Idris said, “The first one is that the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security has been directed to release about 42,000 metric tons of maize, millet, garri, and other commodities in their strategic reserve so that these items will be made available to Nigerians; 42,000 metric tons immediately.

“The second one is that we have held meetings with the Rice Millers Association of Nigeria. Those who are responsible for producing this rice and we have asked them to open up their stores.”
