Nigerian musician, Naira Marley, has been arraigned by the Lagos State Police Command for violating the presidential ban on interstate travels during the lockdown period.

The singer was arraigned on Thursday, August 6, before the Lagos State Special Offences Court in Oshodi.

Naira Marley had flown to Abuja in June for a drive-through concert that took place at the Jabi Lake Mall.

The concert saw a lot of guests violating the COVID-19 protocols, leading to the sealing of the mall and the suspension of the license of the airline that flew the singer and his crew to Abuja for the concert.

Abuja concert: Lagos state police arraign Naira Marley in court

Naira Marley reported himself to the police command this morning following an invitation and he was then taken to court.

This is not the first time that he would be in a faceoff with the law, as in April he was arraigned by the Lagos State Government for violating the lockdown order after attending the birthday party of actress Funke Akindele’s husband at their Amen Estate home.

He was arraigned in court alongside a former governorship candidate in the state, Babatunde Gbadamosi, but the state government subsequently dropped the charges against them after they apologized.
