The truck was allegedly being chased by officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) when it rammed into the students who were going home.

The driver who initially ran away from the scene of the accident was subsequently arrested by the police at Ogba area of Lagos State.

Presently, there is civil unrest at Ojodu as the trailer has since been set ablaze, while some of the children are said to be receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.

Reports have it that the students are currently engaging trailer drivers and are destroying cars in that axis, while the Lagos state police command has drafted some of its men to the area to restore law and order.
