The Chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, has stated that soon nobody will be able to travel without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.

Mustapha stated this while advising Nigerians not to listen to conspiracy theories about the COVID-19 vaccines.

Speaking on Saturday, March 6, after President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo received their jabs of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the PTF boss said no one will be able to travel without being vaccinated soon.

According to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the COVID-19 vaccination certificate will “very soon” become a requirement for travel.

He stated: “Vaccine hesitancy will have to give way to the reality because the truth about it, your excellency, is that very soon, nobody will be able to travel the world unless you produce the certificate that you have been given.

“I have not confirmed this but reliably, some countries have started putting restrictions for receiving visitors, even for exercising activities of their faith, without a COVID-19 vaccination certificate.”

Mustapha revealed that the vaccination will be rolled out in four phases, appealing to Nigerians who are eligible in the first set of the deployment to make themselves available to receive the vaccine.

The PTF boss added that the vaccines have been tested and are safe for use.

Meanwhile, a number of Nigerians have commended Buhari and Osinbajo for leading by example after they received the COVID-19 vaccine on live TV.

There are also others who still have their doubts about the AstraZeneca vaccine.
