Government Ekpemupolo popular as Tompolo is bereaved.
The former militant leader lost his father Thomas Osen Ekpemupolo, aged 84, in the early hours of Wednesday, September 7, at Lily Clinic, Deco Road, Warri, Delta State.
The deceased died three months after a military siege to root out members of the Niger Delta Avengers in the community.
There are insinuations that the May 28, operation might have had a link to the death of the older Ekpemupolo, as he was allegedly attacked by the army officers during the operation.
It is also public knowledge that Pa Ekpemupolo’s lower limbs was amputated in July, as an offshoot of his rough handling during the operation.
It may be recalled that Tompolo had written an open letter to President Muhammadu Buhari stating that it will be only a miracle if the old man survives the treatment.
