Rivers State Governor, Nyesome Wike, has sacked his Commissioner of Environment, Igbiks Tamuno.

Tamuno was relieved of his duties by Governor Wike on Tuesday, March 30

His sack was contained in a statement signed by Wike’s Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri on Tuesday.

“Directed the sacked commissioner to submit all government documents and property in his possession to the permanent secretary of the ministry of environment,” the statement read in part.

Meanwhile, the state government is yet to explain why the governor took such a drastic decision. The commissioner was said to be giving a press briefing on the challenges of the ministry when he heard of his sack.
