Nigerian singer, Simi once asked in one of her songs ‘what is a heart without a beat?’

Indeed, a man or woman with a heart that does not beat is no different from a person without one.

This is the postulation that seems to be trailing socialite, Siju Iluyomade since her widely celebrated 60th birthday.

The wife of Idowu Iluyomade, the Senior Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), City of David Paris celebrated a talk of the town party that had several big names in attendance.

The party which was celebrated at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos had “Agba baller” singer, Flavour Nabania on the band stand.

However, amidst the glitz and glamour of the shindig, the founder of Arise Women has come under heavy criticism.

Many have wondered why she went ahead with the party having just lost a major financiers of the City of David Parish in person of the former Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Access Holdings PLC, Herbert Wigwe, about a week  earlier.

Wigwe died in a helicopter crash in California, United States of America with his wife; Chizoba, another major financier of the church, his eldest son, Chizi; and a former Chairman of the Nigeria Exchange Commission, Abimbola Ogunbanjo.

Speaking about the unfortunate incident before her party, Iluyomade had said: “He was faithful and dedicated, but God chose to call Herbert home.

“Not only him, but his wife and son. On the day I heard it, I screamed. I thought it happened in Nigeria.”

A lot of Iluyomade’s followers had anticipated that with such a statement, she would postpone her party, but were surprised that the show went on.

In an Instagram post after her party, Iluyomade wrote: “Unforgettable 60: Grateful for a spectacular Diamond Jubilee celebration! “Thank you to everyone who made it unforgettable.

“Here’s to cherished memories, lasting moments, and many more milestones ahead. “Diamonds are Forever!.”
