Recall that the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele, had announced the introduction of the new Naira notes cutting across certain denominations of the currencies such as the N1,000, N500, and N200 notes.

Reacting to speculations that the new notes which recently went into circulation would help the country’s economy, Primate Ayodele who spoke at the World Press Conference to announce the release of Warnings To The Nation 2022/2023 and Beyond edition on Friday, December, 23, described the position as a fallacy.

According to the clergy, the economy can only get better when the government makes positive and productive policies. He added that untill the country gets a new leader, Nigerians cant start talking about a better economy.

“The redesign of the Naira is a waste of time and energy. The only positive side to it is that it will only checkmate kidnapping and banditry. It does not stop corruption, it doesn’t improve the economy, and will not make the country great.

“Concerning the economy, it is when we have a good leader that we can talk of the economy. The economic aspect of our country is tied to a good leader, so we are praying for a good leader among the three front-runners in the forthcoming presidential election.”
