Since we published a story titled ‘Fresh Fraud Tale Trails Diamond Bank Plc’, in which we stated that a staff of Diamond Bank Plc identified as Daniel Meshack, a teller in Owerri, Imo State, masterminded an armed robbery incident using privileged information we have been receiving various comments on the publication.

Interestingly; our attention has been drawn to a mail stating that the said Meshack is not a staff of Diamond Bank.

According to the mail, signed by Philip Odiakose Snr. Executive- Media Research, Monitoring & Evaluation, Meshack is a staff deployed by Workforce Management Centre to Diamond Bank as a teller in the Owerri WAAST Avenue Branch.

Odiakose went further to say that Workforce Management Centre are outsourcing contractors to Diamond Bank.

While Odiakose refused to accept a relationship between the outsourcing company and Diamond Bank Plc, by stating that Meshack is not a staff of the bank, it is amazing that he was unable to comment on other fraud cases cited in our story such as that of Marilyn-Joan Obiora, a senior staff of the bank who was recently persecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and whose case is pending at the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State or that of Ebele Okoh and Charles Amadi answering to a case before the Karu Chief Magistrate Court, Abuja. Odiakose, has left us wondering if the last mentioned trio are also not staffers of Diamond Bank Plc and if they were deployed by Workforce Management Centre too.

There is a popular saying that “there is no smoke without fire”, so when a bank like Diamond Bank Plc, has a recurring case of fraud with its staffers colluding with outsiders to defraud its customers of their hard earned money even a deaf man knows something is not only seriously wrong with the financial institution, but those at the helms of affairs.
