Prophet Chris Okafor the General Overseer of Liberation City speaks on the State of the nation.
You recently celebrated your birthday, how did you feel on that day?
I feel honour and privileged to be alive because the Bible says let the living praise God. It wouldn’t have been a dead praising God but the living so, it’s a privilege and we give all the glory to God.
How old are you?
Well, we’re still adding. We celebrate God because the bible says let the living praise Gojuvcd not the death. So, we give God all the glory. We are happy and appreciate God. We thank him for the gift of life. That we are alive today is not because we are better than those who are dead but it is a privilege. So, we are giving God thanks, we are celebrating. We are not here gathering for jamboree like celebration but to empower the less privilege especially the widows. We gave out over one hundred bags of rice and other things to help the widows and less privilege because it is a privilege for us to do this not because I’m better than other people. We are not the one that owns the life we are living, so when you are alive, you thank God for the gift of life even for the air you breathe in. You give him thanks because there are people in the hospital who can’t even breathe.
What has life taught you so far and what has been the secret of your success?
The bible says that, the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. So, whatever you do in life as long as God is involve, you will definitely go far. No man can do all these things except God be with him. Anything you do in life, you must understand that, without God, there is nothing you can do. And when God is involve and when God is ahead of you, allow him to direct you because the bible says; he orders our steps. And when God order your steps, you won’t make mistakes even when you go through the water and fire, God will always be with you. So that’s the secret.
What actually inform the ideal of celebrating with widows and other less privilege?
We don’t do things because others are doing it. We do something exceptional because we hear from God. We follow the biblical principles of things. If we’re doing it because others are doing it, probably we would be somewhere outside the church celebrating everyday for two weeks but we’ve come to understand that, the life we live is a privilege. If God touches your life, you should be able to touch and affect the life of other people around you. Jesus said what you have done to this needy you have also done to me. Remember that, nobody has the exclusive right to live. When you live, it is a privilege. You are not rich until your riches have reached other people. If you are rich and your riches has not reach people then you are worst than a poor man. It is when one or two person can identify that, God has used this man to enrich me that you can say yes you are rich. It gives me joy to say, thank God for giving me this privilege. We are celebrating by reaching other people. That’s the essence of this birthday. If not, it is not a birthday of Jamboree of parties like other people will do. What gives me joy is that, people can stand and say God has used this man to touch me. You can see and hear the testimony. Another thing, by the grace of God, one of my choir masters was giving a jeep and by the grace of God has been able to give about 27 cars. It is not because i am rich or a businessman but like I said, if your riches have not reach other people (the less privilege) then you are not rich.
Can you tell us your antecedent?
Maybe you’ve not gone through my profile. I didn’t just start ministry yesterday. I was called and I’ve been prophesying from when I was eight years old. If you have gone through my book of prophesy, you will find out that prophesy given through me have come to pass. But the problem is, Bible says; my people perished because they lack knowledge. Nigeria is not just having problem that they are having because Nigeria is not rich but there is no spiritual control over Nigeria because they don’t seek the face of God. If you watch all prophesies that we have given starting from the Plane crash, I said it here. God also revealed to me that a senior government officer was going to die last year and I prophesied. Some of them are on tape if you want to watch it. So, I’ve been prophesying since I was eight years-old and by the grace of God, he has sustained us till now. So, when you talk about ministry, there is nothing mysterious there, it is only the hand of God that lift a man above others. So, when the hand of God is upon you then your enemy become at peace with you. So, when God lift you, you become mystery in the eye of other. So, if people see you do what you cannot do, and God enable my hands to do it, some people will say this man is a mystery man.
You are described as Oracle of God, what did God tell you about 2015?
We know what will happen but it is not something I will make public right now. When we get to that bridge, we will cross it. For instance, this year, I gave prophesy concerning the entertainment industry that there is going to be series of death and they never came to ask me for solution. One problem that people have is that, they like to go to churches where they do paparazzi and the rest. They don’t want to come to the truth and that is why they are dying the way they are dying. If they come, I will tell them the mystery behind why people are dying in Nollywood just like I’ve been able to tell Nigerian the reason why the electricity cannot be stable in Nigeria. And again, we talk about recurring accidents that will happen on our roads. I also prophesy the on fire disaster that has been happening. In fact, one happened along Benin Ore road recent where a luxury bus was burnt to ashes and many lives where lose. 99% of the plane crashes that happened in 2012, we gave the message openly. Basically, God has been faithful to us but until the people of this country come to say; what do will do to go forward? There is nothing more we can do. But concerning 2015, God has revealed who will be the president of Nigeria. It is not what I can say publicly now, but when we get to that place, if God asked me to say it, I will definitely say it. For now, God has shown me and I saw the picture of who is going to be the next president clearly but the only thing we need to do is to pray fervently for president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan because there is a lot of obstacle but God will see Nigeria through.
Can you revisit some positive prophesy you gave so far?
As far as I am concern prophesy is positive. If you read your bible and God says thou shall not do this, he knows there is every tendency that you will do it. He watched you, tell you what to do and what not to do. So, when they say there will be plane crash, it’s just for us to ask for a way out. In Deuteronomy 29 vs 29 the bible says secrecy belongs to God but that one he revealed, he revealed unto mankind. So, if God says there is going to be death it does not mean there is no solution. So, it is now the work of the people involved to come to seek for solution. It is only the devil that is negative because the bible says; he came to you to kill, steal and destroy but Jesus said, I’ve come so that they may have life and have it more in abundant. So, prophesy that God has given through us is positive. When God revealed there was going to be a plane crash and a governor will be involved in it, we said it about three weeks before it happened but the appropriate quarter did not come to ask for solution. We can’t do it by force except you come and say man of God; what should we do? But they don’t do that, they bring people that they think they are big pastor that they can give oil block but we don’t need their oil block, we need them to hear what God is saying.
On the issue of Boko Haram, do you think Nigeria can actually solve the problem?
Boko Haram issue is not the only issue bedevilling the nation. Boko Haram issue is as a product of FESTAC 77. And you know the day you sow a seed is not the same day that the seed produce. It goes to a level when it’s mature, you start seeing the fruit. So, if you go through one of my sermon, the revelation of dedication and what happens. If you think Boko haram is the main issue, what about the plane crash that has been happening, is it Boko Haram? What about people vandalising the oil or those that kidnap? What you must understand is that, the then Head of State, Olusegun Obasanjo when he was the military head of state, in 77 he brought many Juju (many gods of other nation) to Nigeria. So, Nigeria was polluted spiritually. There was satanic and demonic infiltration into the country. When these gods came into Nigeria, there was no cleansing. It was the president who organized it and that was what made it powerful. And he never understood the spiritual undertone. Remember before then Nigeria, was living in peace. Remember that countries like Sudan where they always have war brought their gods of war into Nigeria. And country like Rwanda that always experience genosde and other countries where all these evil happen also participated in the festival. In case you don’t know, it is the spiritual that control the physical. There are many things you see physical but you don’t know what is behind it. They brought those gods into country and now the seed that was sow then have started germinating. It was not Jesus they were celebrating, they were celebrating Satan. So, all these spirit are the one disturbing the country now. This is the result we are seen; Kidnapper, electricity failure and Boko Haram. It will also interest you to know that, Nigeria has one of the best military in the continent yet they’ve not been able to arrest Boko Haram.
What is the way out?
The bible says in 2 chronicle 7 vs 14, he said if my people that call by name will humble themselves and come. The then head of state, Obasanjo called people from other country to bring their idols from different part. Those idols represent different things and what Sango does is not what Orunmila does. For instance, if you are dedicated or associated to Songo, you must be having the problem of temper and anger which is one problem Nigeria electricity is having is dedicated to Sango. What is the emblem of NEPA, nobody has been able to demystify the mystery. Are you not surprised why billions of naira, dollars has gone down the drain in the electricity yet not tangible has been achieved. The other day, I was in Togo, do you know that, it is Nigeria that supply Togo and Republic of Benin light and yet they have regular power supply but Nigeria who supply them cannot boast of 24hours power supply. So, the way out is if Obasanjo because of his power called those people together. the president today can do that by putting his name in the book of history, what will he do? If he called people like me to ask me what can be done then God will speak to him and give him the structure. We don’t want anything from him. All we want is for this nation to grow forward. It is my nation and I’ve gone far and wide but we must still come back to this country. Whatever we don’t handle today, our children will suffer it. So, that is why we go down on our kneel to pray because it is the spiritual that control the physical. Basically, the president must call and say man of God; what do we do for this country to come out of it then we gather just like Obasanjo gathered those idols and raise a standard and these spirits will be silent, we will send them out of Nigeria.
