The search for the next set of music stars has commenced, as the doors of Project Fame Season 9 Academy were declared open on Saturday, July 23rd.
Traditionally, the show proper was kick started with the Opening Gala which held at Ultima studios, Lekki Phase 1, Lagos.
The season 9 of the Academy welcomed 14 contestants for the new season.
Of an initial 18 contestants, the judges decided that 12 showed music talent worth direct admission into the Academy, hence, Eli, Oluchi, Gabriel, Winner, Elizabeth, Yusuph, Pere, Mirabel, Dipo, Solomon, Okiemute, and Favour went straight in.
Benjamin, Blessing, Kitay, Kissi, Seun, and Steve on their own part had to take to the stage to prove they deserved admission into the Academy.
While Kitay and Steve made it into the Academy, Kissi, Seun, Benjamin, and Blessing said goodbye to immediate admission. However, they assumed the Wild Card contestant positions. With enough votes, they can be called back into the race.
For the next 10 weeks, the contestants will battle for who will emerge the star winner of N5 Million, a brand new SUV, and a recording contract worth millions of Naira.
Other prizes include N2 Million for the 3rd runner-up, N2 Million and a brand new saloon car for the 2nd runner-up and N3 Million and a brand new saloon car for the 1st runner-up.
