Presidential Bola Tinubu’s aide, Bayo Onanuga, has refuted media reports that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has lifted the ban on Nigerian travellers.

Onanuga’s reaction came in a post shared on his X handle this evening Tuesday, March 5.

According to him, neither the Nigerian government or that of the UAE has authorized a document in circulation and being used to support the claim.

Recall that earlier today, a document went viral claiming that the UAE had lifted the ban on Nigerian travellers.

According to the document, Nigerians planning to visit the UAE will have to develop a Document Verification Number (DVN) and afterwards visit the UAE embassy in Lagos or Abuja for an interview.

Onanuga in his post said the document was never authorized by the UAE or Nigerian government.
