Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians to shelve a planned protest slated for next month.

Coming under various aliases, the protest tagged ‘EndBadGovernance’ is aimed at condemning the economic hardship in the country.

Reacting to the protest slatted for between August 1 and 10, Tinubu urged youths to be patient with his administration.

Information Minister, Mohammed Idris, while speaking with journalists after a meeting with the President on Tuesday, July 23, explained that Tinubu urged the organisers of the protest to shelve the plan and await the President’s response to their complaints.

He said: “The issue of the planned protest, Mr President does not see any need for that. He’s asked them to shelve that plan. He’s asked them to await the government’s response to all their pleas. He has listened to them.

“Young people should listen to the president, and allow him more time.”
