Pinnacle Communications Chairman, Lucky Omoluwa Dies

The Chairman of Pinnacle Communications Limited, Lucky Omoluwa, is dead.

According to family sources and associates, Omoluwa slumped and died at the National Hospital, Abuja, Nigeria.

His death follows the commencement of his trial in a corruption case involving his company, himself, and Modibbo Kawu, the suspended head of the federal broadcast regulator, the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

Recall that Omoluwa was accused by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission of fraud to the tune of 2.5 Billion, a fraud around the digital switchover.

According to the allegation, the collaborators used Pinnacle Communications, a broadcast engineering firm run by Omoluwa to carry out suspicious transactions.

Omoluwa reportedly slumped on Tuesday, February 17th and later passed on at an unnamed hospital, which is yet to issue a statement on the cause of death.

Rasheeda Okoduwa, a spokesperson for ICPC, did not immediately return a request seeking comments about the potential impact of Mr Omoluwa’s passing on the ongoing trial.
