There was pandemonium at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Southwest zonal congress on Monday, April 12.
The congress which held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital was thrown into confusion around 6:45 pm when some suspected hoodlums advanced towards the gate of the WOCDIF event centre where the congress was taking place in an attempt to invade the premises.
According to reports, former Ekiti governor, Ayodele Fayose was about to leave the venue when the hoodlums attempted to invade the premises.
However, security operatives repelled the invasion through the quick intervention of Osun commissioner of police, Olawale Olokode and other officers.
The security operatives shot sporadically into the air to scare away the hoodlums after which they reportedly whisked Fayose away in a black tinted jeep unhurt.
