Redemption is all a man swimming in the controversial pool of a paternity mess seeks.

If for nothing, this will put his home in order and reassure his wife.

Ask Tunde Ayeni, the former chairman of the board of directors, at Skye Bank Plc and he would affirm this position with a big sigh.

The man has been involved in several controversies including an alleged illegal injecting of funds into the 2015 re-election campaign of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Ayeni was also arraigned before Justice Valentine Ashi of a Federal Capital Territory, FCT High Court, Apo on a four-count charge, bordering on criminal breach of trust to the tune of N4,597,500,000.

Also, he was arraigned for allegedly conspiring at different times to fraudulently divert depositors’ funds domiciled at Skye Bank Plc to personal use.

However, amidst all of these controversies is the seemingly indelible allegation of his being the father of a child conceived by an Abuja-based lawyer, Adaobi Alagwu.

While the duo of Ayeni and Alagwu were allegedly involved for a while specifically in 2019, he maintains that he is not the father of the child, a claim the child’s mother continues to refute.

In the heat of claims and counterclaims, Abiola Ayeni, the wife of the businessman came guns blazing to stand by her husband, assuring the world of his fidelity and innocence in the dirty drama, even to the extent of stating that her kind-hearted husband got mixed up with a runs girl.

Mrs. Ayeni was quoted to have said that, “her husband is a target for “runs girls” who use “diabolical” means to seduce “unsuspecting and naive victims”.

Despite all of these, it is a DNA result that is set to redeem Ayeni, as he has revealed that one was conducted on the child involved in the love triangle, even as he continues to maintain he is not the father of the baby in question.

Recent development has seen Ayeni issuing a fresh statement that a DNA test has been conducted to determine the paternity of the child that was alleged to be his.

With the test, Ayeni has now been redeemed as he declares that he “is not in any way connected to the child”.

In the statement titled Setting the records straight, the business mogul vowed that he will “never again” be involved with Alagwu.

“Consequently, I find it pertinent to set the records straight permanently and for the last time. One, I am not involved in any way with Miss Alagwu and I will never be again. I do not have anything to do with her and her daughter and I will never have anything to do with them,” the statement reads.

“Two, the rumours alleging that I gave her certain material possessions including a house, an office, and cars are all lies. They are figments of the imagination of mischief makers. Three, I wish to affirm that I am a father to three wonderful children with my delectable wife, Abiola.

“These are the legitimate scions of the Ayeni dynasty. I do not have any child elsewhere. To allay any form of speculation based on Miss Adaobi’s claims, I hereby state that a DNA test was conducted to ascertain the paternity of the child.

“However, for the sake of the child involved, even though we are not related to her, my wife and I have chosen not to speak of the content of the DNA. The Ayeni family is not in any way connected to the child and we will never be.

“Thus I refute the rumour of my connection to her and her mother. The happiness and stability of my immediate family are of utmost importance to me always. And I remain committed to upholding the undiminishing love, peace, and unity of my beloved family, thus I stand by my wife for her unwavering love and loyalty in the face of undeserved discourtesy spelt by the rumour. I want to thank her for coming out boldly to speak for our family in her recent interview. I stand with her in defence of our family” the statement read in part.
