Death is definitely not the friend of Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, the General Overseer of Fountain of Life Church.

The man of God who lost his first wife Pastor Bimbo Odukoya in the ill-fated Sosoliso plane which crashed in Lagos State on December 10, 2005, has lost his second wife, Nomthi Singa Rosemary.

Nomthi, a South African reportedly died in the early hours of today Tuesday, November 9, after she lost a two years battle with cancer.

In a social media post, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya made the announcement of his wife’s death.

He wrote: “I have to announce the passing of my wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya, with tremendous grief and gratitude to God,” he stated.

“She has been battling cancer for over two years. She fought on the basis of God’s word.

“She gave me eleven lovely years of marriage and two wonderful sons, both of whom I know will play important roles in my life.

“I adore her, but who am I to stand in the way of God’s will?”

 

The death of the mother of two boys was also confirmed by the former Chairman of First Bank, Ibukun Awosika who posted a short tribute to the deceased on her Instagram page.

Confirming the death, Awosika wrote: “Pastor Nomthi Simangele Rosemary Odukoya. May 30th, 1974 to November 9, 2021.

An angel, mother, wife, sister, friend, and above all a true child of God. My heart is really heavy tonight, whilst there is so much we do not understand, yet we know that God is God. It was a real joy to know you Pastor Nomthi. You came into Fountain of Life Church and thought us the simplicity of love and faith by how you lived and loved. You were a true light in our pastor’s life. Thank you for teaching us to enjoy our lives. I know you will enjoy yours in heaven. It’s hard to imagine not seeing you smile one more time. See you in heaven”

A statement on the official Twitter page of Fountain of Life Church also confirmed the death, saying:

“With deep regret and gratitude to God, we have to announce the passing of our Senior Pastor’s wife, Pastor Nomthi Odukoya.

“She battled cancer for the better part of 2 years, she stood on the Word of God, and she fought.

“We loved her with all our heart, but who are we to fight with the will of God.

“The truth is, at one point in our lives, we all will have to say goodbye. So for now, till we meet again in glory, Goodbye Pastor Nomthi.”

Recall that Pastor Odukoya and Pastor Nomthi got married in 2010, in a wedding which took place in Lagos State.
