A Court of Appeal sitting in Akure, Ondo State has upheld the judgement of a high court which affirmed Osun State Governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke, as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for last Saturday’s governorship election.
Recall that PDP chieftain, Dotun Babayemi had approached the appellate court after losing a lawsuit in which he challenged the validity of the primary conducted by the national leadership of the party.
Babayemi who was a factional candidate of the party had asked to be declared the substantive candidate of the PDP.
However, the Appeal Court ruled in favour of Adeleke in a judgement delivered on Wednesday, July 20.
