Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have eventually arrested Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable.
Recall that Portable initially resisted arrest by the police days back.
Portable had gone on Instagram Live to brag about how he resisted arrest after over 20 policemen came to arrest him.
In a reaction to the viral video, the spokesperson of the Ogun State Police Command, Abimbola Oyeyemi stated that the singer had refused to honour five invitations for interrogation after a petition was written against him. He noted that a 72-hour ultimatum had been given to the singer to either turn himself in or get arrested.
Portable was eventually arrested after the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police elapsed on Friday, March 31st, 2023.
Confirming Portable’s arrest, Oyeyemi revealed that the singer had been arrested and currently cooling his feet at the state headquarters of the police in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
With the musician’s arrest on Friday, he is likely to remain in police custody till Monday before his bail can be contemplated.
