Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), in the last election has endorsed Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the party’s governorship candidate in Lagos State.

Throwing his full weight behind Rhodes-Vivour, Obi described him as the best man for the job.

Describing Rhodes-Vivour as a “true and thorough Lagosian from a family that is well known, Obi said; “His educational background, his age, everything is not in question and he has the right age and the right energy,” Obi said.

Obi also disputed the notion that Rhodes-Vivour has to have experience to govern Lagos. The former Anambra State Governor recalled that when he was campaigning to be the governor of his state, he was about 39 years old and people questioned what experience he had to govern.

“The only experience that they can claim is the same experience of corruption, experience of stealing, experience of doing the wrong thing.

“In fact at times it’s good to bring somebody who doesn’t have that experience so that he can clean up the mess,” Obi said.

Furthermore, he added thus, “I came in without that experience and when they wanted to teach me that experience, I told them they are wrong.”

He reiterated his stance that GbadeboRhodes-Vivour is the best candidate to govern Lagos State
