Nigerians have asked why the Edo State Governor-elect, Mathew Okpebholo, decided to kneel to President Bola Tinubu during a visit to Aso Rock on Thursday, September 26.
Okpebholo, who won the Edo State governorship election held on Saturday, September 21, visited Aso Rock where he knelt in gratitude to President Tinubu for the support received during the election process.
Accompanying Okpebholo were key figures from the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the national chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, along with several governors elected under the party’s banner.
Among the notable members of the delegation were Hope Uzodimma, chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State; Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State; Uba Sani of Kaduna State; Usman Ododo of Kogi State; and Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.
The entourage also included prominent Edo leaders such as Senator Adams Oshiomhole, representing Edo North Senatorial District, and the state’s Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu.
However, since pictures from the visit surfaced, it is the sight of the governor-elect kneeling for President Tinubu that has become the major talking point.
