In a bid to stop further attempt to put Nigeria in the bad light again, the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has suspended all the four clubs involved in the shameful total score-lines of 140-0 goals during the promotion play-offs matches played on Monday.

Plateau United Feeders had walloped Akurba FC by 79-0, while Police Machine FC crushed Babayaro FC 67-0 to gain promotions to the Nigeria Nationwide League Division 3.

Reacting to the scandalous match results, Mike Umeh, the Chairman of the NFF Organising Committee, on Tuesday, disclosed that the “four teams involved are suspended immediately and indefinitely, pending further sanctions.” He added that, “we will investigate this matter thoroughly and get to the bottom of it.”

In the same vein, NFF’s Director of Competitions, Mohammed Sanusi, declared that, “the teams involved, their players and officials, match officials, coordinator and anyone found to have played some role in this despicable matter would be severely dealt with.”
