Despite the leadership crisis rocking the National Assembly, especially the Senate, one Nigerian senator and friend to jailed former Delta state gov, Ighoyota Amori has decided to take a break from the heated chambers and cool off in God’s own Country, America.
Unfortunately, the Senator did not chose his constituency that elected him or the country that gave him the opportunity to serve to party, but according to sahara reporters, he abandoned his legislative duties last week, traveled to the US and got a cruise ship surrounded by plenty of women to party hard.
The Senator is a strong ally to James Ibori and a big player in the politics of Delta State. He was once political adviser to former Governor James Ibori and subsequently, Senior Political Adviser to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan.
Despite obstacles put on his way by the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, Chief Ighoyota Amori emerged to claim victory in the Delta Central Senatorial election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. He subsequently helped to galvanise support for Senator Ifeanyi Okowa to emerge governor of the state against the desire of the UPU.
