The recent travails of Akinwunmi Ambode are synonymous with the proverbial seven seas and seven oceans.

 

In recent times, the former first citizen of Lagos State has come under heavy scrutiny.

 

His trouble started with the loss of his second term bid but took a turn for the worse with the emergence of Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the governor of Lagos State.

Since Sanwo-Olu became governor, Ambode’s woes have increased.

 

Criticised for the huge debt of the state during his reign, Ambode has been at the receiving end of negativity for other reasons too.

 

Many recall how he was seriously mocked when his hope of returning to public office as a minister diffused like gas into thin air.

The recent search of his Epe and Lagos homes by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is an indication that there is more trouble to come for the man.

No matter how shrewd a businessman is, he will still shoulder at the sight of real suffering.

This is a fact which Allen Oyenma, the Chairman of Air Peace is aware of.

Known for his shrewd ways of doing business, Onyema falls among the category of men who run their business with only the profit line in mind.

Can Dino Melaye Bounce Back?

The number of time a man falls is irrelevant, it is the number of time he is able to rise that matters.

Senator Dino Melaye is indeed a fallen man presently, but will he be able to bounce back?

Loved by his people, he rose from the lowest of political arrangements to the House of Representatives. From the House of Representative, the man was elected to the Senate.

While his first term as a Senator under the protective arm of Bukola Saraki was a roller-coaster, his return has proven to be something else.

Removed from the Senate by a tribunal, Melaye’s hope of maintaining some political relevance by emerging the first citizen of Kogi State was dashed when he lost the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial primaries to Engineer Musa Wada. In the lowest political ebb imaginable, the chance that Melaye will be able to bounce back is a common topic of discussion.
