An Ondo Court has sentenced the founder of Sotitobire Praising Chapel, Prophet Babatunde Alfa, and five others to life imprisonment.

They were sentenced on Tuesday, October 6, after being found guilty in a case involving the disappearance of a one-year-old kid identified as Kolawole Gold.

Prophet Alfa and five others were found guilty on a two-count charge bordering on kidnapping, aiding and abetting to kidnap.

Recall that the prophet was arraigned before an Akure magistrate court by the Department of Security Services. The cleric was arraigned on Monday, December 23, 2019, alongside six other defendants.

They were arraigned shortly after the disappearance of the child inside the church in November 2019.

Justice Olusegun Odusola, the sitting judge, said the circumstantial evidence against the accused people was proved.

Those jailed alongside Prophet Alfa included Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, and Grace Ogunjobi. The child was taken to the church by his parent last year and efforts to locate him have proved futile.
