The management of Heritage Bank Plc has revealed that it has paid popular musician, Innocent Udeme Udofot, also known as MC Galaxy a total of N39 million.
The reaction follows an enquiry by www.theoctopusnews.com to the Corporate Communication Department of the financial institution.
Recall that several media platforms had reported that the musician publicly called out the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), after Heritage Bank refused to remit N39 million from his account domicile at the bank to specified account numbers he had provided to them.
According to the singer, he had been making the demand of the bank for over two weeks.
In a post shared, the musician revealed a letter was addressed to CBN informing the apex bank of the situation with Heritage Bank.
The singer in another post asked his followers to suggest the best bank in Nigeria to move his money to.
However, in a short statement to www.theoctopusnews.com, the bank, through it’s Media and External Relations Manager, Blaise Udunze revealed that the singer had been paid.
“Good morning Sir, information reaching me was that he’s been paid a total sum of N39million. Kindly confirm from him. Thank you,” the statement said.
Prior to now, there had been reports of Heritage Bank not being able to meet the financial obligations of it’s depositors. Cases of the bank not being able to pay it’s depositors when they want to withdraw their funds have been plentiful.
