As part of activities to kick-start the 2019 edition of the Ojude Oba Festival, the men were honoured for their immense contributions to the development of Ijebuland.

Indeed, the honour came with a sense of fulfillment, amidst applause and ovation from the likes of Governor Dapo Abiodun, Otunba Michael Olasubomi Balogun, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, Sir Kessington Adebutu, Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi among others.

TOP GLOBAL DESIGNERS STORM LAGOS FOR “STYLE BY ZENITH 2.0” LIFESTYLE FAIR

Top global designers and brands will storm Lagos for the “Style by Zenith 2.0” Fair, the second edition of Zenith Bank’s highly anticipated Lifestyle Fair, which holds from Friday, November 29 to Sunday, December 1, 2019 at the Eko Energy City, Eko Atlantic, Victoria Island, Lagos.

Some of the top designers billed to feature at the fair include Tom Ford, Dolce and Gabbana, Tokyo James, Eyola, Mai Atafo, Okunnoren Twins, Ejiro Amos-Tafiri, Telvin Nwafor, Fikirte Addis, House of Kaya, Gozen Green, Trish O, Chulaap, Agatha Moreno, Sunny Rose, Nonnistics, Caesar Couture, Yartel, Orapeleng Mdutle, Mustapha Hassanali and the Fabric Hub, amongst others.

Aside showcasing their designs during the runway modelling sessions at the fair, they will also be participating in the various Lifestyle masterclasses, offering expert opinions on recent trends and designs in the global fashion industry.

Launched in 2018, the “Style by Zenith” initiative was created with the objective of supporting and creating value for customers by focusing on various aspects of their lifestyle.

“Style by Zenith 2.0” caps a year of all-encompassing customer lifestyle engagements by Zenith Bank through events such as the Aspire Music Festival, a musical concert for millennials held in Lagos in September and the Aba SME Fair organised for SMEs in the Aba Fashion Market, Abia State last month. This is in addition to the Light-Up Ceremony of the yuletide decorations on Ajose Adeogun Street, Victoria Island coming up by the second week of this month.

The three-day fair has an interesting line up of activities including runway modelling by leading Nigerian and international models accessorized by top global and Nigerian designers, modelling masterclasses, exhibition of lifestyle, beauty, health & fitness products, food and drinks, games arcade for both children and adults as well as musical concert featuring Nigeria’s biggest artistes.

606 Autos Boss, Babafemi Sarumi Remanded In Prison Over N207m Money Laundering

Babafemi Sarunmi alongside his two companies – 606 Autos Limited; 606 Music Limited; and Splash Off Entertainment Limited – were arraigned on five counts before a Federal High Court in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

He was alleged to have laundering a total sum of N207.1 million between 2013 and 2018.

He was also alleged to have transferred N37.6 million to one Omojadesola Allison; N93 million to one Olanrewaju Oriyomi; N1.5 million to one Abiola Ayorinde, alias ABK; N25 million to one Bartholomew Ezeudoka; and N50 million to one Amobi Uchenna, which he ought to have reasonably known such funds form part of an unlawful act, to wit: obtaining money by false pretence.

The EFCC’s legal officer, Mr A.B.C. Ozioko, said 606 and his companies acted contrary to Section 15(2)(b) of the Money Laundering (Prohibition) Act 2011 (as amended) and were liable to be punished under Section 15(3) of the same Act.

However, the defendant and his companies pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them.

Thereafter, the defence counsel, Dr Muiz Banire (SAN), told the court that he had filed an application for his client’s bail and had served it on the prosecution.

Banire, further told the court that the offence was bailable, and therefore urged the court to admit the defendants to bail in liberal terms.

The EFCC’s legal officer, Ozioko, urged the presiding Judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke to decline the bail application based on the defendant’s antecedents.

Ozioko said the charges against 606 were informed by intelligence from the FBI.

He told the judge that there was another charge against the defendants pending before another court.

Justice Aneke while adjourning till November 4, 2019 to rule on the bail application, ordered that the defendant should be remanded in prison custody.

If the price is paid loyalty continues, but when it is not, it ceases.

 

One person who recently found this out is fair-complexioned Bianca Ojukwu, Nigeria’s former ambassador to Spain.

 

Over the years, the wife of the late Description Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, one of the frontline leaders of the Igbo clan had basked in the glory of the loyalty showered on her deceased husband.

Enjoying the loyalty, Bianca has definitely gotten used to it, with many being at her beck and call.

 

The price of loyalty, however, dawned on her recently when some of the top personalities she had expected at the memorial of her late husband failed to make the event.
