Lekki Residents Lament As Fuel Scarcity Bites Harder

Residents of Lekki, Lagos State, are lamenting the lack of fuel in Lagos State, as queues return to fuel stations.
People living in Lekki Phase 1, Jakande, Abraham Adesanya, Ajah, Ibeju Lekki and environs now resort to hustling for petrol, even as scarcity bites harder.
It is common sight to see resident of the axis driving with gallons as company in their cars, anticipating that they would find a fuel station selling and would quickly fuel their car.
Worse is the fact that they have to endure endless fuel queues that have encroached on the road preventing easy driving.
Meanwhile, road work in Apapa, Lagos and challenges associated with the distribution of petrol has been blamed for the return of the queues to fuel stations.
Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited’s Executive Vice President, Downstream, Adeyemi Adetunju, has stated that it has enough fuel to last the next 30 days, adding that loading in deport will be increased, while 24 hours work continues at NNPC depots.
