The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has stated that elections will now hold in Victoria Garden City, Lagos State on Sunday, March 19.
This disclosure was made by (INEC) State Commissioner, Segun Agbaje.
According to Agbaje, the election which was postponed will now hold on Sunday 19th March 2023 from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.
Earlier reports had stated that residents of VGC could not vote in their regular polling units located within the estate, as the polling unit had been relocated.
Voters had stormed the polling units in the estate to vote for their candidate only to be informed by officials of INEC that they had been relocated to the expressway.
Residents who initially attempted to vote at the polling unit outside the estate were reportedly assaulted by thugs forcing them to return home in protest.
