Kano State House Of Assembly Probes Emir Of Kano Over New Petition

A fresh probe of the Emir of Kano has been started by the Kano State House of Assembly. The new probe follows fresh petitions received.

This much was revealed by Hon. Zubairu Masu, the state’s assembly’s chairman of the committee on local government and chieftaincy affairs.

According to Hon. Masu, petitions received from two people to investigate the Kano monarch over allegation of unethical conduct that contradicted the culture and tradition of Kano people led to the fresh investigation.

Masu said the first petition came from one Muhammad Mukhtar of Ja’en Yamma quarters in Gwale Local Government Area, while the second petition came from the Kano State society for the promotion of education and culture headed by Muhammad Bello-Abdullahi.

He further revealed that the petitioners backed their claim with a copy of a video CD. The petitions was referred to the assembly’s standing committee on public petition by the Speaker of the House, Abdulaziz Gafasa. The committee was directed to report back to the plenary in seven days.
