Kano Government Names University After Dangote

The Kano State government has concluded plans to rename Kano State University of Science and Technology (KUST), Wudil, after Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote.

The renaming of KUST was approved at the last sitting of the state executive council, presided over by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.

According to the Kano State Commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba, renaming the university after Africa’s richest man who is also its chancellor, followed the recommendation of the university’s visitation Panel.

The university has now been renamed Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology (ADUST), Wudil.

The approval has been transmitted to the state House of Assembly to study the relevant laws establishing the university for amendment.
