… D-Day remains Monday, Jan 13th
Detractors, naysayers and mischief makers are at it again. With barely three days to the much anticipated colourful and all-embracing conferment of the prestigious chieftaincy title of First Maiyegun of Yorubaland (Ultimate Peacemaker) on the Fuji Lord, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, a.k.a. K-1, by the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, CON, spurious rumours, false, baseless and unfounded stories have been filtering into the media space that the installation has been postponed, without any cogent reason given by the peddlers.
According to Kunle Rasheed the Publicist of the highly influential musician, the rumours and fictitious stories have since been found to be false, malicious, null and void in its entirety, as they only emanated from nowhere else but dreamland. “This is because nothing can stop what the Gods have ordained, even as nothing whatsoever can warrant a last minute postponement of a well-planed and articulated grandiose event” he stated. Speaking further, he said , the unfounded rumours were unambiguously debunked and dismissed via a statement made available by the Alaafin’s Chief Press Officer, Bode Durojaiye, saying emphatically that the rumour making the rounds about the postponement of the installation is the handiwork of detractors and pull-him-down experts. The statement reads un-edited as follows:
‘’Maiyegun installation ceremony not postponed, as scheduled date is sacrosanct’ – Alaafin Media Aide
This is to inform members of the public that the scheduled date (13th January (2020) for the installation of Alhaji, Chief, (Dr.) Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, K1, as the Maiyegun of Yorubaland by His Imperial Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, has not changed. The Paramount Ruler urged the recipient of the Chieftaincy Title, invited guests, including eminent and distinguished personalities that will grace the occasion to DISREGARD publication(s) both in the mass media and social media, as nothing will change the colourful program from holding as planned. The program to auspiciously mark the 49th Coronation Anniversary and Ceremony of the Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, CON, commences on Monday 13th of January, 2020, with the installation of the Fuji maestro, Alhaji Wasiu Ayinde as the First Maiyegun of Yorubaland. This will be followed on the 14th of the same month, with the coronation ceremony proper.
